Letter From Msgr. Baxter

Welcome to our website for St. James Catholic School. We are extremely proud of our quality school which has been educating young people for over 100 years. The school faculty and staff are committed to providing our children with a great education which focuses on the whole child: intellectual, ethical, spiritual and physical development. We see our school as a vital part of our parish ministry in forming zealous disciples of Jesus Christ. Through prayer, Christian service and study, we seek to help our children become leaders for tomorrow. Our school students come from many different ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds. This wonderful mix opens our students to learn the importance of dealing well with all people in our human family. Weekly Masses give students opportunities to serve as musicians, lectors and planners and leaders of prayer. Prayer is at the heart of a life as a disciple of Jesus. We have recently opened an Early Childhood Education program at our school for 3 and 4 year-olds. It is such a joy to see these little ones get excited about learning, praying and playing and working together. We hope you will come and visit us to get a good look at our amazing school and see all the wonderful things going on there. May God bless you and keep you always in his loving care.

Msgr. Tom Baxter, Pastor
Good Shepherd Parish, Madison, Wisconsin
